Manufacturer: Aventis Pharma Limited
Pharmaceutical name: Fexofenadine
Pack: 10 pills (30 mg)
Allegra (Fexofenadine) is an antihistamine that helps alleviate the effects of the natural chemical histamine present in the body. Histamine can trigger symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and a runny nose. Allegra is utilized to treat seasonal allergy symptoms (hay fever) in both adults and children. Additionally, Allegra addresses skin itching and hives due to a condition known as chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children.

Certain fruit juices and antacids can impede your body’s ability to absorb Allegra effectively. It’s recommended to take the disintegrating tablet on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour prior to or 2 hours after a meal. Other medications may interact with Allegra, so inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Avoid starting any new medications without consulting your doctor.

Discontinue Allegra and seek emergency medical assistance if you believe you have overdosed or experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, trouble breathing, or swelling in your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Use Allegra precisely as indicated on the label or as directed by your healthcare provider. Do not exceed or decrease the prescribed amount, or use it for a duration longer than what is recommended.

Consume the regular tablet with a full glass of water, avoiding any other liquids. Shake the oral suspension (liquid) thoroughly right before measuring a dose. To ensure accurate dosing, use a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup instead of a regular tablespoon. If you lack a dose-measuring utensil, request one from your pharmacist.

Seek emergency medical attention if you exhibit any signs of an allergic reaction to Allegra: hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. If you experience fever, chills, body aches, cough, or other flu-like symptoms, stop taking Allegra and contact your doctor.
